An application for an Individual Tax Identification Number is completely free when you file your Tax Return, it can be file with a W-2 you already posses, a cash calculation you received for the tax year you want to file your tax return, or a resume of your income and expenses as Sole-Proprietor for that Tax Year. You will need to pay for your Tax Return and it can't be send electronically, which will need to be send everything by mail.
